This gem of a hamlet is a well designed conversion of a group of historic stone farm buildings approximately 2 miles from Beadnell Beach and a similar distance from Newton by-the-Sea and the well known Ship Inn.
Tughall Steads is a small organic farm set back a quarter of a mile from the main road, surrounded by countryside and farm land with no through traffic, making it an ideal environment for children and for those wanting to enjoy the peace of the countryside. The 18th century stone former farm buildings have all been carefully restored and renovated over the last year. The result is a characterful collection of holiday properties of varying sizes, with sweeping countryside views, yet only minutes from some of Northumberland’s most stunning beaches.
Most of the properties have their own private gardens: one, Moo House, even has its own private games room – the Cow Shed. All properties can take advantage of communal grassy areas and the multitude of walks available from the doorstep. It is a beautiful and peaceful holiday base to come back to after a day on the beach or exploring castles!
The Granary, Moo House, Glebe Cottage, The Hemmel and the Garden Cottage are characterised by contemporary furnishings against a backdrop of original character beams, stone and rustic features. Their interiors have been professionally designed, creating stylish and tasteful holiday homes, with sumptuous soft furnishings, lots of appliances and thoughtful touches.
Each of the properties here has its own character, reflecting the styles of the individual owners, but all have a similar high standard of self catering holiday accommodation. All offer sumptuous furnishings, stylish interiors and all the facilities you would expect from a premium cottage collection plus some extras which perhaps you wouldn’t!
The arrangement at Tughall Steads has attracted a variety of guests so far - we have welcomed family reunion parties, small personalised business conferences, a wedding and several girls’ ‘pamper weekends’ where guests have taken advantage of our free guest membership to the nearby Ocean Leisure Club.
